Halloween Eve

Busy, busy, busy!
Worked on costumes all morning.
Then an afternoon and evening of fun (with some more costume work in the evening for me!)

Notes From The Field

We've been watching some monarchs make their transformation for a few weeks; we got to see one of the caterpillars attached and in the 'j' position just before shedding its skin for the last time (photos beginning about October 15)

We missed seeing this one emerge from its chrysalis...we've been checking back on a pretty regular basis...next check on Thursday afternoon, hoping these warm days will reward us!

Seven Hours For Ice Cream

We spontaneously drove to Wallops Island, Virginia hoping to see the Antares rocket launch. First a stop, Kent Narrows, just over the Chesapeake Bay; we had a little walk and beach time and looked around the Chesapeake Heritage Museum.
Unfortunately, the launch was aborted due to a boat being in restricted waters.

After the launch was aborted, we headed over to Chincoteague Island for some ice cream before the 3 1/2 hour trip home; some other homeschooling families we know had made the trip too, and we met up with them.

Tee Ball

The season is wrapping up! I think next year, Stella will be able to move on to little league (coach pitched baseball).

Testing, testing

Giving Blogger another chance and seeing if I'll be able to manage and add to our blog from my phone. If so, I'll be able to share some daily reports from and musings on our days as a homeschooling family on the move...
