Oh! Canada

We left Oswego for Toronto in the morning (Monday, July 2), which happened to be Canada Day. We drove east and along Lake Ontario and then cut over to Watertown where we had to pick up a special car insurance card. We crossed in to Canada, stopped in Gananoque for a quick lunch and the traveled Rt. 401 to Toronto. The traffic was awful the whole way. An old school [paper] map would have been a good idea-our phone plans for international travel did not allow us to do so much map searching without big charges. Also, someone [ahem] was extremely eager to get to Toronto by game time, so did not want to deviate from our plan...

No wonder it was so quiet in the back seat for so long-Cary decorated herself with marker...as expected.

Fairhaven Beach State Park

We all went for a day of sandy beaches, picnicking, and playground time. It was a lovely afternoon!

Roaring at the waves.

Building a sandcastle.

We stopped at a great little cookie shop that Melissa told us about!

Back to Oswego (June 30)

A scenic drive from Oneida back to Oswego.

Beers on the back deck at Uncle Dave's. Uncle Kevin drove up from Pennsylvania.

Melissa, Brandon (Dave's Son), and Stella (one year-above) arrived, they live about an hour away. Doug, Mary (Bob and Dave's sister, they also have a brother Mike who lives in Colorado, he and his family couldn't make it) and daughter Carrie arrived from North Carolina. Their other daughter Heather, along with husband Mike and son Casey (10 months) arrived from Massachusetts. Family photos were taken Sunday afternoon!
Back to the beach for another perfect sunset and dinner!
