Sleepover!

We had Holly and Teo overnight while Jennifer and Al went to the U2 concert. We made our old stand-by pizza, went for a walk and played with bubbles, watched a movie, and read stories in PJs.

I think everyone was successfully worn out-including me!!

The Sister

Despite her 'funny tummy' the Sister has been full of energy today. Let's hope that doubling up on the probiotics and sticking to the BRAT-Y diet does the trick. She regained her appetite in the latter 1/2 of the day and even asked for 'regular' dinner--although she ate very little of it.

She loves to take pictures with the camera on my phone. Here are some artistic shots she took today...

Nooooo!!!!

Suspected bacterial skin infection, waiting on culture results but sent home from pediatric dermatology with regimen of creams which will hopefully do their magic.

Also, the Sister has a tummy bug and the Daddy sounds like he is coughing up a lung. Luckily, the Mama has almost recovered from her weekend long tummy bug...

Cary Evelina, 5 months

14lbs2oz, height- about 28"
The Baby can- roll over back to front, grab her toes, scootch herself forward, hold up her head well when on her tummy, reach for something and grab it, hold her own bottle (including throwing her head back like any good drinker to get out every last drop!), kick a target, pinch...

After a two week hiatus from anything more than cat napping at the breast, the Baby has welcomed real naps back into her life!

Our laid back girl is still moving easily between bottle and breast; if Mama didn't hate to pump so much ('the devil's work' Auntie Allison calls it), perhaps those bottles could be a little less formula.

Photo below by Stella; the determined look on my face tells me we were having a period of distractibility, nothing like a head turning in the opposite direction with your nipple firmly attached to it to get you to pay attention!

Little Scientists

We're learning about insects this month. Today, while Cary naps (yes!-nap time is back thank goodness, that was a long 2 weeks), we are out on a 'bug hunt' with magnifying glasses. Stella got herself a little freaked out and screamed out loud when a long piece of grass tickled her on the arm!

Yuck, the box elder beetles are back; there are big clumps of them everywhere-this clump was disturbed by us and was dispersing.

Garden

The Lilies loved something about this spring, this is their best showing ever; now I need to deadhead the rose bushes and weed to do them justice!
