I was nursing Cary and asked Stella to bring me my phone, she gave me one her favorite answers, "Not right now."
(Sean got it for me)
A little while later she noticed some cantaloupe left in the bowl next to me and wanted it (she had already polished off hers. I teasingly told her that since she didn't bring my phone, she couldn't have the cantaloupe. Then she turned on the waterworks.

I told her that if she stopped crying right away, she could have it.
"But the crying won't stop."

Trying to get it under control.

Oh, the drama! (Yes, she got the cantaloupe!)

It was my turn to help Stella get to sleep; lately, she has been requesting a retelling of 'Goldilocks'. I was so exhausted last night and it was late (perhaps what led to the preceding incident), so I requested we just snuggle. She persisted and I encouraged her to take a turn. To get her started, I said, "You know, 'Once upon a time...'"
To which she responded with enthusiasm, "You're doing it Mom!" After a good laugh, I did indeed continue the story, drifting off into dream speak every once in a while...
